TODAY host Dylan Dreyer has officially said goodbye to hosting another show.
Just weeks after the meteorologist was hit with backlash, she has decided to step away from one of her many jobs at NBC for a little while.
On Friday morning, Dreyer took to Instagram with a special announcement revealing she has finished filming Earth Odyssey. Dreyer wrote: “Wrapping SEASON 7 (!!!) of @nbcearthodyssey with a very special guest! @raewynngrant of @wildkingdomtv fame! Thanks to @omahazoo and @mutualofomaha for hosting us!! @aaroneldinbauer you’re the best and no one does my hair better than @getrusso_ !! I love this team!!”

Dreyer has been hosting the documentary series since 2019. According to the show’s website, she “takes viewers on an incredible journey to the wildest points of the globe, uncovering the connection between the environment, wildlife and human beings of exotic locales.”

While she will enjoy her time off from set, it doesn’t seem like it’ll be for long. Underneath her post, Rae Wynn-Grant commented: It was AMAZING filming with you Dylan! Can’t wait to have you on @wildkingdomtv.” Wild Kingdom is another nature series on NBC.
Dreyer also acts as a TODAY weather forecaster and a fixture on the morning show’s 3rd hour. She has been a part of the cast since 2012, when she joined Weekend Today.
Along with her duties at NBC, she has written five children’s books. She released her latest one, A Peek Out Your Window, earlier this year.
During an interview with Hello, she admitted she originally never had plans to write a book.
She shared: “I never really thought about a children’s book… but my husband and I come up with crazy little stories and it came from one of those.”
During her time at the network, she met her husband Brian Fichera, who is a producer and cameraman at NBC News. The two co-host a SiriusXM radio show called Lunch Date with Dylan & Brian.
The couple also share three boys: Rusty, Ollie and Calvin. Her big family is the reason she decided to leave TODAY’s weekend segment in 2022.
She previously said: “I’m 100 percent committed to my job and I love it, but I also love my family and want to be with them, too.”
While speaking about her family, she has admitted she can’t take anymore on her plate.
“I think I’ve maxed out now,” Dreyer revealed.
