Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) fired back after fellow congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) dismissed her understanding of the Black American experience, suggesting Crockett’s education makes her out of touch.
“She claims to be, you know, from her people…she puts on this image that she understands the Black American struggle. But let’s face it, the girl went to private school. She went on to, you know, I don’t know what college and law school she went to. It’s like…she’s a complete fake,” Greene said during an appearance on Megyn Kelly’s YouTube show.

Crockett took to social media to condemn Greene’s jab, calling it racist. Without naming Greene directly, she wrote, “So MAGA keeps challenging my blackness due to the fact that I’m educated because it’s not racist at all to presume that I can’t be black if I have also been educated.”
The Texas Democrat continued, “BOTH CAN BE & are, in fact true. I’m black & educated! Many of you are just the opposite & prove my point about your hate EVERY SINGLE DAY.”
Crockett earned a business administration degree from Rhodes College and later her law degree at the University of Houston.

In a 2020 interview with Darling Magazine, she explained how her career plans shifted after a series of racist incidents on campus during her junior year.
“My school didn’t know what to do, and they brought in The Cochran Firm, and the lawyer that helped me became my instant ‘shero,’” she said. “I was helpless and confused. She was able to calm me and walk me through the legal process. While we never figured out what happened, it was empowering to have her there. I saw how much help a lawyer could be to somebody at a very confusing time.”
Greene has repeatedly butted heads with Crockett and other congresswomen of color. Their clashes have often made headlines, most notoriously during a House Oversight Committee hearing when Greene sneered, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”
Crockett shot back with the now-viral description “Bleach Blonde, Bad Built, Butch Body,” which she later turned into a merchandise line.
In responding to Greene’s latest insult, Crockett posted what she called a “receipt” of her lived experience as a Black woman: a vile racist email from a Florida man identified as Steve Arce.
The message read: “I dont like the N word. Its disgusting. But, Jasmine, you big mouthed n—-r. You need the Black slapped the f–k out of you. You are more ignorant than Al Sharpton. And that POS is f—–g ignorant. Jasmine, you cunt, are a N—-r.”
Sharing the email, Crockett wrote, “I’ve not done this in a long time, but receipts don’t lie & frankly I’m hoping that Steve of Florida has the day he deserves! Please keep your hoods on & stay outta my ‘hood.’”
Crocket doesn’t hold back when sharing her opinions about the broader MAGA cult in general
Crockett didn’t hold back in her criticism of Trump and his supporters during an appearance Wednesday on California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s podcast, branding them as unpatriotic.
Crockett argued that Trump has repeatedly tried to bend the branches of government to his will whenever something didn’t go his way.
“Whether we’re talking about those in his administration or whether we’re talking about the courts or whether we’re talking about the Congress, that is one of the reasons he is so desperate to make sure that he can win in the midterms, because he knows that Democrats, it’s not even about partisanship. It’s about doing what’s right. It’s about doing the American thing,” she said.
The Texas Democrat went further, saying that the MAGA movement and Trump himself represent the opposite of patriotism.
“And to be clear, you can wave all the flags you want to, but I am telling you right now that the most unpatriotic people that we have in this country are MAGA and this president. We are the real patriots. And it is time for us to take our flag back and show people what America is about,” Crockett declared.
She accused Trump of undermining the Constitution and stripping away freedoms.
“You can’t say that you love the Constitution while decimating it with every single stroke of a pen for an executive order while you are disrespecting our troops who have signed up to protect our freedoms, not just here but abroad, and then taking people’s freedoms away using those exact same troops. I just don’t understand,” she told Newsom
The White House pushed back. “President Trump is the leader of the greatest and most patriotic political movement in history,” assistant press secretary Liz Huston told Fox News Digital in response.
The two have a history of trading sharp words. Crockett has previously called Trump a “piece of s—,” while Trump has dismissed her as a “low-IQ person.”
In June, during a separate podcast interview with Katie Couric, Crockett again blasted Trump and his backers, describing them as “sick.” She argued that Americans of all political affiliations should unite in opposition to him.
When Couric asked about Trump’s decision to send National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles in response to anti-ICE protests, Crockett condemned the move as a quest for “retribution” with a “special little army.”
“It is sick. It is really sick, and anybody that supports it is also sick,” she told Couric. “We’ve got a mental health crisis in this country because everyone, no matter how you affiliate yourself, should be against Trump. Period.”
