After Kristi Noem declared that ICE will be “all over” the Super Bowl in light of Bad Bunny’s halftime performance, Whoopi Goldberg proposed a way to bait the outspoken secretary of homeland security.
“Everybody, get a little cocoa butter, sit in the sun, that’s the first thing,” Goldberg said on Monday’s episode of “The View.” “And this is the only time you can probably ever do this: Give yourself a Latin accent, and just see if [Noem] can tell who’s who.”
Ever since Bad Bunny was announced as the Super Bowl halftime headliner, right-wing figures have stoked outrage over the Latin pop star’s Spanish-language music catalog, as well as his recent comments about skipping the United States on his last tour due to fears about his fans encountering ICE agents.

Confirming that ICE would have a presence at the NFL championship, Noem recently said on a right-wing podcast, “I have the responsibility for making sure everybody goes to the Super Bowl, has the opportunity to enjoy it and to leave.” She added that the only people who should be attending the game are “law-abiding Americans who love this country.” During his second presidential term, Donald Trump has mobilized the immigration enforcement agency to carry out raids on workplaces, residential buildings and communities, forcibly deporting tens of thousands of undocumented people living in the U.S.
Bad Bunny cheekily addressed the conservative backlash to his Super Bowl gig while hosting “Saturday Night Live” on Saturday. “I’m very happy,” he said of the upcoming performance. “And I think everyone is happy about it. Even Fox News.” The show played a montage of conservative anchors including Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity slicing up their on-air comments to say, collectively: “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.”
Bad Bunny then offered some heartfelt thoughts in his native language, recognizing the contributions of Latinos in the U.S. and saying “no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.” Then, Bad Bunny said in English: “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”
