You can tell the WNBA is back!
The mother of Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese, the main rival of Indiana Fever phenom Caitlin Clark, has taken a shot at her daughter’s opp. And not just that, but her alma mater in the University of Iowa.
Following her daughter’s comeback to the arena of LSU for a WNBA preseason game Friday in a Sky uniform, which saw Chicago square off against the Brazilian national team, Angel Webb Reese took to social media and put up a fiery post.
After the contest, fans made comparisons between the attendance of Reese’s comeback to Clark‘s expected return to Iowa’s arena, which took place Sunday. (RELATED: Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever Pull In 1.3 Million Viewers For Preseason WNBA Game)
According to ESPN, 6,373 fans were in attendance for the Reese game at LSU. On the flip side, Clark & Co. brought in a figure of 14,998 to Iowa, playing the same Brazil team that the Sky played against.
“Aww that certain fan base looking in the stands celebrating ‘attendance’ while others are looking up in the rafters celebrating championship banners,” wrote Angel Webb, who is also the mother of Maryland Terrapins basketball star Julian Reese, in reference to Angel’s 2023 national championship with the Tigers that was won over Clark and the Hawkeyes.
“We ain’t the same,” continued Angel Webb in her social media post. “Different year same haters. Have a great day.”
She turned off the comments for the post.
