The Chicago Sky have suffered a tough start to the season after being blown out in both of their games so far with one player looking to be not-too-pleased with Angel Reese in their loss to the Liberty

Kamilla Cardoso was clearly angered by Angel Reese

Chicago Sky center Kamilla Cardoso looked just about done with Angel Reese in their blowout defeat to the New York Liberty as she walked away from her teammate, cutting a frustrated figure.

Reese had a brutal offensive performance against the Liberty as she failed to make one shot in eight attempts while turning the ball over five times. At one point in the game, Reese had ignored her teammates offensively while desperately looking to score in the paint, with Cardoso non-too-pleased.

While being able to rebound her own misses, Reese had bricked three consecutive shots with Cardoso walking away from her and choosing not to rebound, while clearly being angered by the situation. Reese had been arguing with the officials throughout the game, calling for fouls which had not come her way. Meanwhile, her fellow former LSU teammate Hailey Van Lith also had her struggles, shooting 0-for-4 in a brutal start to life in the WNBA.

The power forward registered just two points and one assist in a brutal offensive performance, but starred defensively with 12 rebounds.

But Cardoso’s fury had been clear, angered by Reese not kicking the ball out to the offense instead of continuing to shoot herself, going on to miss three straight.

In reaction to the game online, Sky fans had all been in agreement on the conflict between the two. One had written: “Cardoso looks done with Reese,” while another said: “It’s the way Kamilla just walks away.”

Another suggested: “Kamilla need to get out of Chicago asap. Go somewhere where she dominate the post area. Angel in the way.”

Reese failed to make a shot

Cardoso, the number three overall pick in the 2024 class, taken above Reese, had a solid first season in the league herself, but has found herself overshadowed by her teammate.

The two play similar roles and the positions with the team, essentially fighting each other for rebounds at times, with tensions looking to be boiling over.

As one fan noted above, pairing the two together did always feel like a peculiar approach, with both looking to score from the post, and occupying the same space on the floor.

The 99-74 blowout loss to the Liberty came off the back of the Sky being embarrassed by Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in the season-opener, losing by 35 points.

The Sky will feel that they need to bounce back soon to ease any tensions between the teammates. They will face Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings on Sunday.
