Beyond the Hardwood: Caitlin Clark’s Surprising Offseason Pursuits

As the Indiana Fever’s 2024 WNBA season drew to a close, all eyes were on superstar Caitlin Clark and what she planned to do during her well-deserved break. While many athletes focus on rest and training, Clark has playfully hinted at exploring two very different professional paths, revealing a side of her that fans rarely get to see. From the golf course to the DJ booth, Clark’s offseason hobbies are as dynamic as her on-court performance.

A Swing at a New Career

When reporters asked Clark about her immediate plans following the season, her answer came with a smile and a surprising twist. “I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow, I don’t know what I’m going to do the next day. Maybe play some golf,” she began. “That’s what I’m gonna do until it becomes too cold in Indiana. So I got that. I’ll become a professional golfer.”

While the comment was clearly made in jest, it’s rooted in a genuine passion. Those who follow Clark closely know that her love for golf is no joke. She was often spotted on the links during her last offseason and even showcased her skills by participating in an LPGA Pro-Am event. Her lighthearted remark about turning pro seems to be her way of saying she’s serious about spending significant time perfecting her swing.

From the Court to the DJ Booth

Clark’s other hidden talent was brought to light by her teammate, Aerial Powers. Powers, who joined the Fever in August and quickly became a fan favorite for her energetic style and engaging personality, often gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a WNBA player through her YouTube channel. In a video posted on October 12, she turned the camera on Clark to discuss her role as the team’s unofficial music director.

Powers praised Clark for her skills in managing the locker room playlist, which prompted a confident response from the star guard. “Ask everybody on the team, I’m legit on the AUX,” Clark stated.

Building on the fun, she then added another potential offseason career to her list. “Maybe that’s what I’ll do in the offseason, I’ll become a DJ,” she joked. When Powers pointed out that Clark would be both a DJ and a golfer, Clark confirmed it with a laugh, saying, “Those are my two hobbies.”

Although said with a tongue-in-cheek delivery, her comments reveal a genuine enjoyment for curating music for her team and family. Given her well-known appreciation for artists like Taylor Swift, it’s safe to assume she’s keeping the energy high both on and off the court. While fans eagerly await her return to basketball, they can now picture her spending the offseason mastering the turntable and the green.
